Privacy Policy
Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy document describes how we handle your privacy when you visit or interact with our website.

This website is owned by my company, DNP Solutions, LLC (DBA I.T. Happens). If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me.

Web Hosting Provider
My company, DNP Solutions, LLC (DBA I.T. Happens), owns the domains parkernathan.com and ithappens.co and operates this website from Hot Springs, Arkansas, in the USA. We use Wix to host this website.

Data We Collect
Our web hosting provider may leverage cookies, cache website data on your system to make the website load faster, or collect metrics on how many people access this website, but you can always flush your browser to remove this data.
The primary time we will specifically know who you are is if you fill out the contact form on our website. We will receive an email that is no different than our receiving an email directly from you. We will know your name, email, the subject line of the email message, and the email message. If you want to email us through the contact form, feel free to.
I (Dr. Nathan Parker) currently sell these products and services: my book, my newsletter, and my Christmas music album. All of these are handled through systems outside of this website (the book store you choose to purchase the book from, Substack or Patreon for my newsletter, or the music service you purchase or stream my album from). Since I do not control any of these websites, you are bound by the privacy polices of these third-party websites when you interact with them. For my book or Christmas album, I do not know who particularly purchased them (although my album provider occasionally gives me an estimate of how many people have purchased it). I simply receive a check about once a year for the royalty payments. For my newsletter, if you signup under a free or paid tier, Substack or Patreon generally shares with me your name, email address, and if you signed up as a free or paid follower so that if I needed to go into the system and cancel it out for you, I could.

My company, DNP Solutions, LLC (DBA I.T. Happens), is also selling consulting services. These transactions are handled by my company using the business services we have chosen (Wave Accounting, Wave Payments, SEE Finance, Square Payments, OpenSign, iCloud, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Keeper Security). The primary time we will obtain personal information from you is when we request it via an email or phone call (usually after the customer initiates contact with us via phone or through our contact form). You should also review the privacy policies of the business services listed above, as those are the services we use to store any customer and client data while conducting business.

Our web hosting provider (Wix) also uses Google Site Verification and Google Analytics as part of our web hosting plan. When browsing our website, you agree to be bound by the privacy policies set forth in Google Site Verification and Google Analytics.

Sharing your Personal Information
We never personally share or sell anyone's personal information, unless the person we interact with requests that we forward on their message to someone else, or we are required by law to share the information in a limited circumstance (such as if someone attempted to perform a nefarious activity on this website). We believe that the people we interact with have a right to privacy.
When you purchase my book or Christmas album, everything is handled by websites I do not own or control, including their own payment processors. If you want to know what those websites are doing with your personal information, you will need to reach out to them. Bare minimum, they are at least sharing how many people are purchasing the product (to know how what my royalty payments should be), and what it involves for you to acquire the product digitally or being shipped to you. My newsletter is hosted on Substack and Patreon, so you will want to review their privacy policies if you are a newletter subscriber. For paid tiers, Substack and Patreon use Stripe to process the payments. I am not a huge fan of Stripe, but that is all they offer at the moment, so I am stuck with it for the time being.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.
If you are a European resident, we are the Data Controller of your data and you have the right to know how your personal information is processed, what is collected about you, and to ask that this data to be corrected, updated, or deleted. Additionally, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States. Please contact me if you have any questions about your GDPR rights. For more information please contact your local data protection authority.

Data Retention
We only retain any collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service or unless and until you ask us to delete this information. This would generally be an email message you sent us on our contact form. Once we have finished responding to your email, we may delete the email unless we need to retain it (or forward it onto someone else only if necessary). It generally leaves our email app within thirty days of deleting it.

For emails, communications, and customer and client information regarding the consulting services provided through DNP Solutions, LLC (DBA I.T. Happens), (including, but not limited to: customer records, estimates, invoices, payment receipts, agreements and contracts, customer e-signature requests) the customer and client information is retained in our system as long as necessary to conduct business with the customer and client and for legal retention purposes.

Email Communication
There are only two times when we will email you. If you send us an email on our contact form and want us to email you back, we will.
Also, if you follow my newsletter on Substack or Patreon or my weather reports via email, you will receive emails with new newsletters from me or weather reports. If you no longer wish to receive those email updates, you may opt-out at anytime of receiving them by following the instructions included in each communication. Usually it's an "unsubscribe" link.

Links To Other Websites
We have various links throughout our website that link to websites we do not own or control. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies outside our personal control. Please review the Privacy Policy of every website you visit before you submit any personal information to any of these websites.

Affiliates
Hosting a website costs money each year. It is not free. We personally pay out of pocket to Wix to ensure our website is hosted with a quality web hosting provider. There are two ways we make money to help cover our hosting expenses. The first is each time we sell one of my products or services (book, Christmas album, newsletter, consulting services). Since we loathe advertisements, we have chosen not to run advertisements directly on our website. Instead, we have a few affiliate links. We have a group code with Nota Bene, an academic word processor (NBNP), where we can offer a discount of Nota Bene to people who want it, and receive a small commission in sales in the process. The NBNP group code for Nota Bene is not tracked unless you place an order with them, and all they track with it is how many people are using the group code to purchase it. We also have an affiliate link with Logos Bible Software that provides access to a free trial and discount for website viewers who want to give Logos Bible Software a try, and we receive a small commission in sales in the process. We also have an affiliate plan with MXGuardDog (stop spam) to allow us to receive free access to their junk email filtering service in exchange for promoting them. You will need to reach out to Logos Bible Software to ask them how they handle the tracking and Privacy Policy concerning affiliate links.

Children
Our website does not address any individuals under the age of 18. By using our website, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

Do Not Track
Our website does not alter its data collection and use practices when your browser sends Do Not Track signal since we are not personally tracking anyone's personal information.

Business Transfers
We do not have any short-term plans to take this website offline. In the event we do, we would likely archive the content on a flash drive.
If I were to pass away, any unanswered responses from my contact form would be handled by another family member or business colleague of DNP Solutions, LLC (DBA I.T. Happens), then they would do as they wish with my website and/or any additional collected information (possibly cancel the service and delete the information). You acknowledge and consent that such a transfer may occur and is permitted by this Privacy Policy.

Changes
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at anytime without prior notice. We will post these changes on this page so please review this document each time before you provide us with any personal information. This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 1, 2026. Your continued viewing of my website after seven days of any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your agreement with the new terms. We suggest that you check this Privacy Policy periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.

Consent
By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
